News March, 18th / 4:15 pm Guestlecture by Prof. Dr. Stanley Ulijaszek on "Food, Eating and Obesity" Embedded in 8,746,1.00 Verantwortung / Responsibility: Food Politcs and the Limit of Markets, with Tanja Schneider Stanley Ulijaszek MA (Oxford), MA (Cambridge), BSc (Manchester), MSc, PhD (London) is Professor of Human Ecology in the Institute of the Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Oxford. He is a nutritional anthropologist whose work centres on the evolutionary basis for, and cultural diversity in, nutritional health. This includes both undernutrition and obesity, and the diseases associated with them. He has carried out research in India, Nepal, Sarawak, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, the Cook Islands, Poland and Australia. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Human Comparative Biology (Homo) and he is Director of the Unit for Biocultural Variation and Obesity. Announcement: Event Ethnography and the Making of Markets - Webinar Series Academic Year 2021-2022 During the 2021-22 academic year Lena Rethel, PAIS, University of Warwick, and Tanja Schneider,Technology Studies, University of St. Gallen, will organise a series of webinars on event ethnography with the aim to bring in conversation scholars from different research traditions (Cultural and Social Anthropology; Economic Geography; International Relations/Political Science; Sociology/Science and Technology Studies).
